Photography Tips

If you are using an iPhone or iPad, your device may default your file to HEIC, which is not compatible. See below for the steps to change the file type.

Steps to change your file type:

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap Camera. You will be shown some options like Formats, Grid, Preserve Settings, and Camera Mode.
  • Tap Formats, and change the format from High Efficiency to Most Compatible.
  • Now all your photos will be automatically saved as JPG instead of HEIC.

Always take your photographs in Square Format, not 4:3 or 16:9. This will make sure all of the item is visible if cropping occurs.

Place the item on a plain background for good clarity

Ensure the items are fully “in frame” with no part of the product outside the frame. Unless of course a close-up is required.

Make sure the item is in focus and not blurred

Please photograph all items being offered for sale including the box, sheath or pouch, spare sheaths etc.

Take close up images of important details such as logo’s , steel type etched on the blade. Include any images of scratches or sharpening marks . Include images of any damage to the item or any accompanying articles such as the box if it has one.
